The Altona and Area Family Resource Centre offers support to all families in Altona and the surrounding areas. Those involved in the most important task of all, raising the next generation, are welcome to participate in our free programs.

Our list of programming includes topics such as literacy, nutrition, parenting, and empowering families.  Free snacks and free crafts are offered at our groups and there is always time to visit with other parents and discuss topics of interest.

Belief Statement

We believe that families are valuable and that the health of families affects the health of the community.  We also believe that the well-being of every family can be enhanced if parents and caregivers are given support, encouragement and education.  For this reason, we are committed to assisting and supporting all families in the area of Rhineland, regardless of structure or financial resources.

Our Mission Statement:

To support all parents in the Altona area to help their young children thrive and reach their full potential.  We do this through programs that focus on literacy and learning, physical health and positive parenting.

The Purpose of Early Years Programming:

Research into early childhood is clear that the opportunities for establishing a solid foundation for positive outcomes for our children are in the first five years of life.  We want to provide parents with opportunities to learn about how best to support their young children and provide the venues to support these optimum outcomes, particularly, but not exclusively in the first five years of life.
